Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response identifies several relevant features, including the pool at the centre, reception to the south, and the planned café and dance studios. However, it only addresses the plans minimally: there is no clear overview of the main changes, and the future description is incomplete and difficult to interpret. Some details are inaccurate or misplaced: the present outdoor courts are on both the west and east sides, but the response places one after the seating; the gym is north of the pool, not beyond it after crossing the pool. The future plan also retains the 25m pool and adds a leisure pool on the west, but these changes are not clearly explained. Select the major transformations and report their locations accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is an attempt to organise the response into a present-plan paragraph and a future-plan paragraph, signalled by “Firstly” and “S3condly.” This gives the reader a basic distinction between the two stages. However, progression within the paragraphs is weak: locations are listed in a confusing order, and several ideas run together without clear relationships. The future section ends abruptly at “in the” and does not complete its description. Repeated use of “thier is” and “after that” also makes the linking mechanical, while unclear references such as “the other” hinder understanding. Use a clear overview followed by separate, logically ordered descriptions of the current and proposed layouts, with accurate location links such as “north of” and “to the east of.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “reception,” “pool,” “seating,” “changing room,” and “dance studio,” so the basic subject is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description difficult to follow, such as “peception,” “out door,” “liesure,” and “university centers positions.” “Map” and “university parts” are also imprecise for describing floor plans and facilities. Build a more accurate set of location and change terms, for example “facility,” “is located,” “remains,” “is replaced by,” and “is added.” Check spelling carefully, and use the same clear labels as the plan so readers can identify each area without guessing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to combine ideas in longer sentences, but control is weak and errors frequently obscure relationships between facilities. For example, “when the person enter thier is peception area” has problems with tense, agreement, and sentence structure, while “in the east side thier will be a two dance studio room” has faulty preposition use and number agreement. Articles and punctuation are also inconsistent, and several sentences lack clear boundaries or complete clauses. The final phrase, “in the west thier will a changing and than liesure room or in the,” is incomplete. Practise accurate simple location sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses: “The gym is north of the pool,” and “A leisure pool will be added on the west side.”
