Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main change: the centre will expand and gain several new facilities, while some existing features remain. You also mention the 25m pool, gym, reception, seating and outdoor courts, so the response is relevant to the plans. However, the overview is vague (“a huge and add a many things”), and several locations are misreported or unclear. For example, the future plan places the café and an additional changing room in the south-east, but you describe a café in the west; the sports shop and changing room are also not clearly located. To strengthen the report, give a concise overview of the expansion and accurately group the new facilities by side, while distinguishing retained features from additions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has separate paragraphs for an introduction, overview, present layout and future layout, which gives it some basic organisation. It also attempts to compare the two plans by noting that several facilities remain in the same positions. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow: the long final paragraph moves between the entrance, west side, east corner and right wall without clear sequencing. Connectors such as “and” and “in” are repeated, and references such as “this” do not always make clear which facilities are meant. Organise each layout from north to south or west to east, and use clear linking phrases such as “In contrast” and “On the eastern side” to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “redevelopment,” “outdoor courts,” “changing room,” “sports hall” and “dance studio.” This shows an attempt to describe facilities and spatial changes. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the meaning difficult to understand, such as “un sorted,” “reactangular shape pool” and “the inter in it.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “a huge and add a many things” and “in the end wall was locate a gym.” Aim for accurate map vocabulary and collocations: describe a facility as being “located” or “situated” in a particular area, and use “expanded” or “extended” for the building. Check spelling carefully, especially for key labels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt longer sentences and use some present and future references, but sentence structures are often incomplete or difficult to parse. For instance, “The map Illustrates, the university…” has an unnecessary comma and no clear grammatical structure, while “the reception seeting area changing room gym and pool are not be replace” has problems with articles, verb form and sentence construction. Tense and agreement are also inconsistent, as in “was locate” and “are make.” Most ideas are joined into long strings with “and,” so punctuation does not reliably show how the information is grouped. Practise writing short, complete sentences first, then combine them with accurate clauses such as “The gym will extend eastwards” and “The pool will remain in its current position.”
