Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main change: the centre will gain facilities, including a leisure pool, dance studios, a café and a sports shop, while some existing features remain. You also note that the gym becomes larger and that outdoor courts are replaced as the building expands. However, several locations are misreported or unclear. The café and sports shop are not in front of reception; they are in the expanded southern areas, with the café in the south-east and shop in the south-west. The future plan also adds a sports hall and two changing rooms, which are not clearly described. A more precise overview and accurate comparisons of the west and east extensions would make the key features clearer and more fully address the plans.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has separate paragraphs and attempts an overview before describing the present and future layouts. This gives it some organisation, and phrases such as “In future map” signal a shift in time. However, the progression is difficult to follow because details are repeated or placed in confusing sequences: the reception and pool are described in the overview and again in the next paragraph, while the final paragraph moves between shops, changing rooms and the leisure pool without a clear spatial order. Linking expressions such as “In additionally” and “But” do not reliably show the relationships between ideas. Organise the report into an overview followed by a present-plan paragraph and a future-plan paragraph, describing each plan from west to east.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing plans, including “layout,” “facilities,” “outdoor court,” “leisure pool” and “located.” This shows an attempt to use task-specific language. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural phrases sometimes make the description harder to understand, for example “enterance,” “recption,” “bakside,” “both human” and “little bittle big.” Some word choices also do not express the intended spatial relationship clearly, as in “in front of recption.” Aim for accurate forms and collocations, and use a wider set of location phrases such as “to the west of,” “in the south-east corner” and “along the eastern side.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors often make relationships between features unclear. For example, “The plans demonstrates” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “how it will look after renovated” is missing a grammatical structure after “after.” Articles and possessives are also frequently omitted or misplaced, as in “in present” and “future map.” Several sentences join multiple ideas without clear sentence boundaries, particularly the long overview beginning “Overall, the after map…”. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, tense and punctuation. More accurate simple sentences would make the comparisons easier to follow.
