Overall, the new devolpment will have several changes with the addition of sports hall in the east side and leisure pool on the west side.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main purpose of the plans and give a useful overall comparison, noting the new leisure pool, sports hall and larger gym. You also describe several existing features, including the pool, reception, seating and outdoor courts. However, important planned changes are only partly covered: the two dance studios are described as one, and the new sports hall’s position and the added changing rooms are not clearly explained. Some locations are inaccurate or vague: the reception is south of the pool, not simply “in front of the entrance,” and the changing room is west of the pool while seating is east. Develop the comparison by describing the west and east expansions more precisely and distinguishing retained facilities from additions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear basic structure: an introduction, an overview, a description of the current layout and a paragraph on the future plan. This gives the reader a generally coherent progression from present to proposed arrangements. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “However” and “In the future plans” help signal these stages, although some transitions feel mechanical and the contrast between the two plans could be more systematic. Within the descriptions, several facilities are grouped together without a clear spatial sequence, making relationships harder to follow. For example, the future paragraph lists the café, shop and studios but does not guide the reader from west to east or north to south. Organising each plan by direction would make the progression clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing facilities and change, including “addition,” “outdoor courts,” “leisure pool” and “size … increased.” This is enough to communicate the general subject, but the range is limited and some wording is imprecise or repetitive. “More rooms attached with the main hall” is vague, while “in front of the changing rooms” does not clearly identify the locations of the café and sports shop. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “redevolpment,” “devolpment” and “Morever,” which reduce accuracy. Use more precise location phrases and verbs such as “extend,” “replace” and “be converted into,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “However on the outside of the building…” and the future construction “There will be the addition…”. The main meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “The sports complex now have” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “on the left and right side we have changing room and seating” has problems with number and sentence structure. Missing spaces after commas and full stops also affect punctuation, as in “now, and” and “Overall, the.” Aim for accurate agreement and articles, and use complete, clearly punctuated sentences. A wider range of correctly controlled structures would make the description more fluent.
