Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main change clearly: the centre expands and gains several new facilities, while the 25m pool and some existing areas remain. The details about the leisure pool replacing the western courts, the sports hall beside the seating, and the eastern dance studios are broadly consistent with the plans. However, some locations and relationships are unclear or inaccurate: the new sports shop is in the south-west, not “west east,” and the original changing room remains in its position rather than being attached to the leisure pool. The gym also extends eastward, so saying it “remain[s] the same” misses a notable change. The overview is relevant, but claims such as “It will convenient for everyone” are not supported by the visual information. Select and describe the main changes more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an identifiable opening, overview, detail paragraphs and conclusion, and it generally moves from the western changes to the eastern facilities. This gives the reader a basic route through the plans. However, progression is weakened by a long overview paragraph that mixes general statements with many specific locations, followed by details that repeat some of the same points. Linking is often mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “and” and “also,” while phrases such as “In future plans” and “In conclusion” do not always help clarify how information relates. Some references are difficult to follow, for example “other changing room remain the same but attach with lesiure pool.” Grouping the unchanged central features together and then describing additions by side would make the organisation clearer and cohesion more reliable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for describing a redevelopment, including “layout,” “redevelopment,” “replace,” “remain,” and facility names such as “sports hall” and “dance studios.” This shows some awareness of the task’s topic. However, the range is limited and several word-choice or spelling problems make parts difficult to understand: “more wide,” “out door court,” “lesiure,” and “massive then the present.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “New sports shop were built in west east attatched with changing room.” Use precise location phrases and standard map vocabulary, such as “to the south-west of” or “is replaced by.” Check spelling carefully, and avoid unsupported evaluative wording such as “It is very often to use”; the task calls for objective description rather than predictions about use.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify the facilities being compared. However, control of sentence structure and basic forms is inconsistent, which sometimes obscures relationships. For example, “The plans illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, while “They are more wide and buildings are expand” has problems with comparison and verb form. Tense and agreement errors also appear in “New changing room are built” and “Cafe also add.” Articles and sentence boundaries need attention, as in “25 m pool will remain same as current pool.” Practise accurate present-tense descriptions of the existing plan and future forms for proposed changes, while building longer sentences with clear clauses. These corrections would make your comparisons easier to follow.
