Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main redevelopment clearly: the outdoor courts are removed, new facilities are planned, and the reception and central pool remain. The overview also attempts to compare areas of the centre. However, several details are inaccurate or unclear. The leisure pool is on the west, not the east, and the gym does not remain unchanged: it extends eastward. The response also says the northern side will remain untouched, although two dance studios are added on the eastern side and the gym expands. The final description is cut off at “In th”, so important eastern and western changes are not fully reported. More precise, complete coverage of the main changes would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, an overview and two body paragraphs, so there is an attempt to organise the information by area. However, progression is difficult to follow because the second and third paragraphs repeat the discussion of the south and the outdoor courts without clearly completing each comparison. The final paragraph ends abruptly at “In th”, leaving the description unfinished. Some linking is also awkward or inaccurate, such as “Furthermore” and “while” in the overview, which do not clearly connect the ideas. Group the changes into a clear sequence—for example, overview, then western and central changes, then eastern and southern changes—and use references that make each location easy to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant planning vocabulary, including “renovation”, “transformed”, “demolishing” and “constructed”, and the reader can generally recognise the facilities being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors reduce precision: “future modification” is unnatural here, “adittion” and “greate” are misspelled, and “leisure poll” is incorrect. Repetition of “new addition” and “change” also limits variety. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “redevelopment”, “will be replaced by” and “will be added”. Check spelling carefully, especially for the facility names, and choose verbs that describe the plan changes precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

There is an attempt to use both simple and more complex sentences, including “Furthermore, in southern part…” and “The two other side… which will be fully reconstructed…”. However, errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “The maps compares” (subject–verb agreement), “of university’s sports centre” (missing article), “in three side” (number agreement), and “The southwest and southh east corner will built” (incorrect verb construction). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, particularly in the long overview sentence. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences with correctly formed clauses and consistent future-tense verbs.
