Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions by identifying poverty, food waste and unequal distribution as causes, then suggesting government support, better transport and donations from supermarkets and restaurants. These are relevant points, but they are mostly listed rather than explained or supported with examples. For instance, you mention that poverty prevents people from obtaining food, but do not explain why agricultural advances fail to reach them. The proposed actions also need clearer detail about how they would reduce hunger. The conclusion simply says hunger can be controlled, without summarising the main argument. The response is 230 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum; this limits the opportunity to develop the ideas required by the task. Add specific explanations and a relevant example for each main point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two parts of the task. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven: several causes are joined together in long, loosely connected sentences, and the solutions paragraph moves quickly from individual responsibility to government action and food donations. Linking phrases such as “In addition to this” and “first of all” show an attempt to connect ideas, but some connections are repetitive or unclear, as in “so in result.” Use separate sentences to develop each point, and make the relationship between cause and solution explicit. Clearer referencing and more controlled transitions would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “poverty,” “food waste,” “distributed,” “transportation” and “donate,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise, and several spelling errors make the writing less clear, including “stil,” “wastege,” “responsibilties” and “Supermakets.” Some phrases are not natural in this context, such as “suffer the hunger,” “lower class” and “best route of transportation.” Aim for accurate collocations and more precise terms, for example, “people on low incomes” rather than “lower class.” Proofread spelling carefully, and use a wider range of expressions for food access, distribution and support so that key ideas are communicated more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often difficult to control. Errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation are frequent: “The main reason that caused this problem is poverty due to poverty people dont have enough food” joins separate ideas without suitable punctuation. There are also problems with agreement and verb forms, as in “There are several reasonst” and “they also provide best route,” as well as missing articles and inconsistent capitalisation. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended relationships. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea each, then combine them using controlled clauses such as “because” or “although.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation during proofreading.
