Student answer (Band 6.0)

yes, the statement is true. The ever growing population require ever growing food, which is near impossible to achieve.

The total population of the world is above than 8 billion, so to sufficient food for this 8 billion people imagine the scale of production of should be?

through out the centuries, humans are developing/adopting new ways to cultivate the food, but people still go hungry with a empty stomach some might even die to starvation, studies and research shows that there are many factors are being playing a role in it.

factors like environment, economy and many more.

Environment played a major role in production of food, like a habitual area where the soil should be rich in minerals so it can grow plants like paddy when the seed are sowed.

not only land, water plays major role too. Without water humans cant survive, water helps in every human activity from drinking to using it for production of food.

Egypt was one of the greatest example of a civilization which thrived on river Nile. without Nile it may not have been able to survive.

next weather plays a role too, rain is a must requirement to grow crops, without it there will be drought and the crops will dry-out.

Many counties have issues with environment as above mentioned which one of major cause of the lack of food for the people, while the other being the economy.

Not every country have resources to produce their own food, so they have to depend on other counties to import the goods which require huge amounts of funds. and many 2-tire or developing counties are lacking them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying causes such as environmental factors and economic constraints, and suggesting solutions. However, the development is uneven. The essay ends abruptly mid-sentence ('The advance of techono'), which prevents a full discussion of solutions and leaves the task incomplete. While the ideas presented (e.g., the role of water and economic imports) are relevant, they are not fully extended or supported with sufficient depth. The introduction is informal and lacks a clear thesis statement. To improve, ensure that all parts of the prompt are addressed with equal weight and that the essay reaches a logical conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed. While there are some attempts at linking ideas (e.g., 'not only land, water plays major role too'), the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the environmental and economic arguments is abrupt. The paragraphing is inconsistent, and the sudden termination of the text significantly disrupts the overall coherence. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'habitual area' instead of 'suitable region' or '2-tire' instead of 'developing'. Some terms are used incorrectly, such as 'above than' instead of 'more than'. The range is limited, and there is a reliance on basic vocabulary. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more sophisticated academic vocabulary related to agriculture and economics, and pay closer attention to word forms and spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'population require'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'imagine the scale of production of should be?'). The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles. Proofreading for common errors before finishing would also be highly beneficial.
