Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the modern world many advances made in agriculture but many individuals around the glob still go hungry.
I think this issue is occured due to poor management by the government and there poor policies they should make better policies to facilitate the farmers if they need loan for any machinery they should be provided. Furthermore administration should cut fuel prices and provide solar to needy farmers so they can look after their crops and enhance production.
For example in my prospective i am working in a pakistan reputed bank and the department is related to agriculture loan. There are approximately one hundred thousand applications which were submitted by farmers for loan. They faces a lot of challenges while take care of their crops they have very few recourses.
If government helps their farmers and make good policies which they favour their farmers they will perform better and the food supply will be properly distributed.
Furthermore The world still go hungry due to less water supply because in many areas there are less water recourses in many areas there are no lakes rivers even wells in those areas so the production is very limited therefore the production is limited thus food supply will be less.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt—reasons for hunger and potential solutions—but the development is insufficient. The ideas are presented in a very brief manner, and the response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly limits the depth of the argument. While the student provides a personal example from their work in a bank, the explanation remains superficial. To improve, the student needs to expand on their points with more detailed analysis and ensure the essay meets the length requirement to allow for full development of ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'in many areas' and 'therefore'. The transition between the introduction, body paragraphs, and the conclusion is abrupt. The paragraphing is present but does not effectively guide the reader through a well-structured argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall flow and coherence of the writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'there poor policies' (should be 'their') and 'prospective' (should be 'perspective'). The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'many'. To achieve a higher band score, the student should aim to use a wider range of academic vocabulary and collocations related to agriculture and economics, while also paying closer attention to spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this issue is occured', 'they faces'), incorrect use of articles, and run-on sentences. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with few successful attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. To improve, the student needs to focus on basic sentence construction, verb tense consistency, and proofreading to eliminate common errors in grammar and punctuation.
