Though technology has revolutionized the way of agriculture, many civilizations around the world are starving at hunger. This essay intends to delve into the reasons of this consequence and the plausible solutions to mitigate this issue.
To begin, nowadays a number of digital tools, strategies are being used in agriculture which facilitate the increase of crop production. However, it is being failed to cope with the uncontrolled rise in the population especially in the impoverished countries such as Africa, Bangladesh etc. Another reason is that corruption which leads to the improper food distribution. For this, the dishonest stakeholders play a crucial role. Furthermore, owing to the irregular high price of different food items, the lower income people fail to fulfill their daily food requirements. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for global hunger and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, covering population growth, corruption, and market manipulation. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the mention of 'DNCRP' is specific but lacks context for a general audience, and the solutions, while logical, are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully explored. The position is clear throughout, but the essay would benefit from more detailed examples or deeper analysis to move into a higher band. Overall, it covers all parts of the task adequately.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin', 'However', 'Furthermore', and 'To recapitulate' are used to guide the reader. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The use of referencing is mostly effective, though some sentences are slightly disjointed due to grammatical errors. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the problem from the solution, which helps the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'mitigate', 'impoverished', and 'stakeholders'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'starving at hunger' (starving from hunger), 'uncontrolled rise' (rapid increase), and 'over price' (inflated prices). These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise word usage to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout, such as 'it is being failed to cope' (it fails to cope), 'punished the dishonest businessmen' (should punish), and 'people should be made aware about' (aware of). While these errors are frequent, they rarely cause confusion or impede the reader's understanding. The control of punctuation is generally acceptable, but the sentence construction often lacks the fluency required for a higher band score.
