Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the recent years, there is been a lot of technological advancements made in the feild of agriculture, yet many people around the globe are suffering from hunger. This is not mainly due to shortage of food production but mainly due to poverty or economical crisis in many areas. In my opinion,a lot can be done to resolve this issue which i will be discussing below in the essay.
World has done a lot of development in technology which is benefitting us in efficient farming and production of enough food for the world, yearly. But the core problem lies in the constant poverty of some nations. Low income and increasing food prices make people unable to complete their basic needs. Wars and geographical conflicts also influnce people in this regards. For example, due to wars, many people have to leave their grounds and migratre to other lands, which left them with extreme crisis and food distribution became very difficult for them.
To address this issue, the responsibility lies on the government and organizations to locate such people and make food available for them, so they don't suffer from hunger. Also, sustainable measurements are required so that no food shall go to waste and reach the deserving people. Unemployed and low income families must be provided with sufficient funds.
In conclusion, advancements should not only be focused on producation but also should help navigate needy and poor people so thaty everyone around the world enjoy equal rights and live their lives in peace.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for hunger and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as poverty, conflict, and the role of government. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion to 'locate such people' is vague and lacks depth. To reach higher bands, you should expand on your examples with more specific detail or logical explanation. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the overall development of your arguments remains at a general level rather than providing a nuanced exploration of the complexities involved in global food distribution.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a clear progression of ideas from the problem to the solution. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For example, the transition between sentences could be smoother; phrases like 'In the recent years' and 'In conclusion' are standard but the internal flow within paragraphs could benefit from a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast'). Referencing is generally clear, but the structure of some sentences makes the logical links between ideas feel slightly disjointed.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'sustainable measurements', 'geographical conflicts', and 'food production'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'feild', 'influnce', 'migratre', and 'producation'. Additionally, the phrase 'complete their basic needs' is slightly unnatural; 'meet their basic needs' would be more precise. To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common academic vocabulary and refining your collocations to sound more natural and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'there is been' (should be 'there have been'), 'In the recent years' (should be 'In recent years'), and 'which left them' (should be 'which leaves them'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To progress, focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent use of verb tenses, and ensure you proofread for minor mechanical errors like missing spaces.
