Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for global hunger and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, covering factors like distribution, climate change, and waste, and proposing solutions such as government intervention and technological investment. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'unequal distribution' is mentioned but not fully explained with deep analysis. While the response is on-topic and provides examples like India and the UN, the arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a progression of ideas from the causes to the solutions. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'Therefore', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, although some sentences, such as 'With helps of these food not equally distribute', are syntactically awkward, which slightly disrupts the flow of information. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the structure supports the reader's understanding of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'advance farming technology and instrument' instead of 'advanced agricultural technology and equipment' and 'unnecessaries food' instead of 'unnecessary food waste'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'food security' and 'vulnerable regions', the overall range is limited. The errors in word form and collocation are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the core message.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('hunger remain', 'countries faces'), incorrect verb forms ('significantly increase' instead of 'increased'), and missing articles or prepositions ('in over the world'). While the student attempts complex sentences, these are often marred by errors that occasionally impede the flow. Punctuation is generally functional, but the high frequency of basic grammatical slips limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage.
