Student answer (Band 5.5)
Despite significant technological progress in agriculture, hunger remains a major issue globally. This essay will discuss the main reason behind this problem and suggest some possible solutions.
There are several reasons why people continue to suffer from hunger. Firstly, food distribution is unequal. in some countries government will give free food for some people some caste people will take ration food but some low caste and road side people will no allow to take free food. because of that reason still some people are facing pain to eat. Secondly, in shops we can see they are selling more price rich people can buy then what about middle-class and below middle-class people. they can't effort so much money this is also the reason the world still go hungry. for example in India so many workers are there they will get per day 50 rupees with that 50 rupees they have to buy rice, vegetables, they have to pay rent for living so they are not able to buy food with costly.
Thirdly, in some some countries wars will happen in that time most of the people are suffering to buy food. they are not able go outside in that situation.
To address this problem, government and international organization need to take coordinated action. One solution is to improve they should provide food for rood side people also in rural areas. Another important government should provide more job opportunities and provide financial support or food to get low-income families.
In conclusion, although agriculture advances have increased food production, issues such as poor distribution, climate change mean that the world still go hunger. However, by improving infrastructure, this problem can be reduced.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for hunger and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The explanation regarding food distribution and economic barriers is somewhat simplistic and relies on anecdotal evidence rather than a broader analytical perspective. While the points are relevant, they lack depth and academic rigor. The solutions provided are also quite general, such as 'improve infrastructure' or 'provide job opportunities,' without explaining how these would effectively mitigate the complex issue of global hunger. To improve, you should aim to expand on your arguments with more sophisticated reasoning and clearer examples that demonstrate a deeper understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. For example, the transition 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Thirdly' is used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'in some countries government will give free food for some people some caste people will take ration food'. The lack of proper punctuation and linking words makes the progression of ideas feel abrupt. Improving the use of conjunctions and relative clauses would help create a smoother, more logical flow between your sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'give', 'take', and 'costly', which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'facing pain to eat' and 'road side people', which are not standard English expressions. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to agriculture, economics, and social policy, and ensure that you use words in their correct context to convey your meaning more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'wars will happen'), missing articles, and subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'the world still go hungry'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many run-on sentences and a lack of commas to separate clauses. While you attempt to express complex ideas, the grammatical control is not yet strong enough to support them without error. Focusing on basic sentence construction, proper tense usage, and punctuation will significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
