Student answer (Band 6.0)
Although the advancement in agriculture, many people around world still go hungry. This essay will discuss the reasons and give solution about such argument.
There are several reasons why million of people suffer from hungriness despite having advance agriculture. The main reason is that food is not distributed equally across the world. While some countries produce more amount of food, many poorer nation do not receive food due to week transportation system and poor storage facilities. As a result, large quantities of food are wasted before reaching people who need it most. Another important cause is poverty, many people simply cannot afford enough food even it is available. Therefore, hunger is mainly caused by economic inequality and poor food distribution rather than a shortage of food production.
Several effective measures can be taken to reduce hunger around the world. Firstly, governments should invest in better transportation networks and storage facilities to ensure that food reaches all regions efficiently. This would reduce food waste and improve the distribution of food, especially in remote and poor areas. Secondly, governments and international organizations should provide financial support and modern farming technology to poor farmers. As a result, farmers would be able to produce more crops and increase the food supply in their local communities. If these measures are implemented effectively, global hunger can be significantly reduced in the future.
In conclusion, despite major advances in agriculture, millions of people still suffer from hunger because of unequal food distribution and poverty. However, by improving food distribution systems, supporting farmers, and reducing poverty, governments and international organizations can greatly reduce this problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for global hunger and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant and logically developed, such as the focus on distribution systems and economic barriers. However, the development is somewhat brief; while the points are clear, they could benefit from more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, and the essay maintains a consistent focus on the topic. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by a more detailed explanation or a concrete example to demonstrate a more thorough exploration of the issues.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'As a result', and 'In conclusion' are used effectively to link sentences and paragraphs. While the flow is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure supports the argument well. To reach a higher band, try to vary the cohesive devices used and ensure that the relationship between sentences is always explicit and natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some instances of inaccurate word choice, such as 'hungriness' (hunger) and 'week transportation' (weak transportation). The range of vocabulary is sufficient to discuss the topic, but it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'food' and 'governments'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and enhance the overall quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Although the advancement in agriculture' (missing a verb/preposition, e.g., 'Despite the advancements'), 'many people around world' (missing an article), and 'even it is available' (missing a conjunction, e.g., 'even if'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to article usage, prepositions, and sentence construction. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy will help in achieving a higher band.
