DESPITE PROGRESS MAD IN AGRICULTURE, MANY PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD STILL GO HUNGRY. MEANWHILE, NOT ONLY THE CUASE OF THIS SITUATION BUT ALSO THE SOLUTION ASSOCIATED WITH IT WILL BE EXPLAINED IN THE ENSUING PARAGRAPHS, ALONG WITH EXAMPLES.
DISCUSSING THE CONTRIBUTING FECTORS, THE MOST EVIDENT ONE IS POVERTY. MANY PEOPLE CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY FOOD EVEN WHEN IT AVAILABLE. FOR INSTANCE, LOW INCOME FAMILIES IN AFRICAN RIGON AND FOOD WASTE IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES WHILE PEOLE HUNGRY ELSEWHERE. TO JUSTIFY IT FURTHER, WAR AND FIGHTING DESTROYS FARMS AND INTERRUPTS FOOD SUPPLY. ONE PROMINENT EXAMPLE IS YEMEN AND OTHER MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES FACING FOOD CRISES. CLIMATE CHANGE AND NATURAL DISASTER LIKE FLOODS AND HEATWAVES REDUCE GRAIN PRODUCTION. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the causes of global hunger and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, covering poverty, conflict, climate change, and infrastructure. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, while you mention 'low income families' and 'war', these points are listed rather than fully explored with deep analysis. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not effectively synthesize the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is expanded with a clear explanation of how it leads to the problem or solution, rather than just listing factors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'For instance', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow is sometimes hindered by mechanical transitions and awkward phrasing, such as 'To justify it further'. Additionally, some sentences lack logical connection, such as the list of factors in the second paragraph which feels like a series of disjointed points rather than a cohesive argument. Improving the use of linking words to show relationships between ideas would enhance the logical progression.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'MAD' instead of 'MADE', 'CUASE', 'FECTORS', 'RIGON', 'PEOLE', 'SPOILD', 'MORDERN', 'INDIVIDULS', 'CHALLANGE'). These errors are distracting and occasionally impede the flow of reading. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'subsidies', 'infrastructure', and 'food management system', the range is limited. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and try to incorporate more precise collocations to convey your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include missing articles ('provide a financial support'), incorrect verb forms ('create a job' instead of 'creating jobs'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('lack of transportation facilities and storage rooms cause of grain spoild'). The use of all-caps also makes the text difficult to read and is inappropriate for formal writing. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
