Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt (reasons and solutions), but the development is insufficient due to the significant under-length. The ideas, such as poverty and food wastage, are introduced but lack the depth required for a higher band. The solutions provided are also quite brief and lack specific detail or logical expansion. Because the essay is 55 words under the 250-word minimum, it fails to fully develop the response, which is a key requirement for Task Achievement. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and concrete examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between the problem and the solution is abrupt. There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the run-on sentence 'The first and foremost reason for the hunger is poverty there are lots of food available in market but poor people can not afford it'. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring clear punctuation between independent clauses would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You use simple terms like 'food', 'poor', and 'bad' repeatedly. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'lack of cure about it' (likely meaning 'lack of care') and 'weeding' (likely meaning 'weddings'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common items and more precise collocations related to the topic of agriculture and global economics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include missing articles ('in market'), subject-verb agreement errors ('food are preserve'), and punctuation errors, such as the lack of full stops between distinct ideas. The sentence structure is often fragmented, which affects the overall readability. Focusing on basic sentence construction, correct article usage, and ensuring that verbs agree with their subjects will help you achieve a more accurate and professional tone.
