Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for global hunger and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The points regarding economic constraints and lack of education are relevant but are not explored in sufficient depth. The examples provided, such as mentioning specific countries like Sub-Saharan Africa or Israel, are somewhat superficial and lack detailed explanation to support the arguments effectively. The conclusion is a summary but does not add significant value to the discussion. To improve, you should expand on your points with more specific evidence and logical reasoning to ensure a more comprehensive response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'There are various way of leave out that problem' or 'That the reason country people may have suffer'. The progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed, and the referencing is sometimes unclear, making the flow of the argument feel repetitive. While there is an attempt to use linking words, they are often used incorrectly or in a way that does not naturally connect the sentences. Improving the variety and accuracy of your transition signals will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on basic words like 'enuf' (spelled incorrectly), 'problem', 'country', and 'help'. There is a lack of precision, and the word choices are often inappropriate for an academic context, such as 'leave out that problem' instead of 'address this issue'. Spelling errors, such as 'enuf' for 'enough' and 'develop' instead of 'developed', are frequent and noticeable. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including more academic collocations and topic-specific terminology, while ensuring accurate spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'country economy is down'), missing articles (e.g., 'in agriculture sector'), and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'may helpful', 'may have suffer'). These errors are persistent and occasionally make the meaning difficult to grasp. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, which limits the range of grammar displayed. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense and article usage will help improve your accuracy.
