Although many new equipment have been contrsucted in the field of agriculture, many people still face starvation in the world and the main reason is those big food chain industries who prefers to throw out leftovers rather than nourish to those who cannot afford. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for global hunger and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as food wastage and government-led employment programs. However, the development is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding food wastage is brief, and the example provided about Italy is slightly underdeveloped in terms of its connection to the broader global issue. While the position is clear, the essay would benefit from more depth in the analysis of why agricultural advances have not eliminated hunger, as the prompt specifically mentions this context. Overall, it covers the requirements but lacks the depth expected for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a logical progression from the problem to the proposed solutions. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but some sentences feel disjointed, such as the transition between the discussion of food chains and the specific example of Italy. Improved use of linking words would enhance the flow and coherence of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several non-standard word choices and errors, such as 'hungerness' (hunger), 'contrsucted' (developed/implemented), and 'poors' (the poor). The student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'agricultural technology' and 'allocate resources', which is positive. However, the frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'thet', 'supemarkets', 'adavncement', 'socitey') and awkward phrasing suggest a limited range that occasionally hinders the clarity of the message. More attention to word formation and spelling is required.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many new equipment have been', 'the main reasons is'), article usage, and prepositional errors (e.g., 'distribute in poors'). While the meaning remains generally clear, these persistent errors demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and verb agreement, before attempting more complex sentence forms.
