Student answer (Band 6.0)

In spite of significant advances in agriculture technology , millions of people around the world suffer from hunger . This is mainly because food is not distributed equally , and many people lack of financial means to obtain it. however, better food distribution, poverty education and sustainable agriculture policies could help to address this problem.

one major reason for global hunger is poverty. Although modern farming techniques have increased food production, poor families may not have enough money to buy sufficient food . In some developing countries, people also lack access to fertile land , irrigation, machinery and high quality seeds. As a result, they may be unable to buy sufficient food for themselves. Another important factors is conflict, even when food supplies and force farmers to leave their homes. for example, in regions affected by prolonged conflict, even when food is available elsewhere, transportation problems and insecurity can be prevent it from reaching people who need it most.

several ,measures can be taken to reduce world hunger. government should invest in irrigation , modern farming equipment, agriculture education and climate- resistant crops so that farmers can produce food more reliably. In addition, better roads, storage facilities and transportation networks are needed to reduce food shortage and ensure that food resources reaches local communities.

In conclusion, hunger continues to exist not because the world is in capable of producing enough food, but because poverty, conflict, unequal, distribution and climate- related problems prevent many people from accessing hot. greater investment in sustainable agriculture , infrastructure and poverty reduction would make it possible to reduce hunger significantly

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the causes of global hunger and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant and logically developed, such as the mention of poverty, conflict, and infrastructure. However, the development is somewhat brief in places. For example, the point about 'poverty education' in the introduction is not fully explained in the body paragraphs. While the position is clear throughout, the response would benefit from more detailed examples or deeper analysis of the proposed solutions to reach a higher band. Overall, it covers all requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate causes from solutions. Cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'As a result', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there are some minor issues with mechanical usage, such as the capitalization error at the start of paragraphs ('one major reason', 'several ,measures') and some awkward punctuation. Despite these minor lapses, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. You use some topic-specific terms like 'sustainable agriculture', 'climate-resistant crops', and 'infrastructure'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'poverty education' (which is unclear) and 'accessing hot' (a likely typo for 'food'). There are also some spelling and punctuation errors, such as 'in capable' instead of 'incapable' and 'unequal, distribution'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you demonstrate an ability to construct complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include 'many people lack of financial means' (should be 'lack the financial means'), 'Another important factors is' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'can be prevent it' (incorrect verb form). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage.
