Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes of hunger and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as economic instability and natural disasters, and the solutions provided, like financial aid and awareness, are logical. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the example of Punjab in 2025 is hypothetical and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and concrete, real-world evidence to support your arguments. The introduction is a bit vague, and the conclusion is repetitive rather than summarizing the main points effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'In addition', and 'To conclude' to link your thoughts. However, some of the transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'In this regard, solution to the problems must be introduced'. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words beyond simple sequence markers. The overall structure is logical, but the cohesion lacks the flexibility required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'economical instability', 'natural calamities', and 'materialistic resources'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'advances in agriculture are made displaying development' and 'aware the population'. The word 'spreaded' is incorrect; the past participle of 'spread' is 'spread'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. While the vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your ideas clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision needed for a band 7 or higher.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain errors in grammar or punctuation. For example, 'solution to the problems must be introduced' lacks an article, and 'due to flood occurred in the year 2025' is grammatically incorrect. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage throughout the text. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining your use of articles would be beneficial.
