Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for global hunger and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat limited. The focus on climate change as the sole cause is a narrow interpretation, and the solutions provided are somewhat repetitive. While the ideas are relevant, they lack depth and specific evidence beyond a brief mention of Indian farmers. To reach a higher band, you should explore a wider range of factors, such as economic inequality, food distribution issues, or population growth, and provide more detailed explanations for your proposed solutions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Although the lost of breakthroughs' at the beginning is grammatically confusing and does not function well as a transition. Some sentences feel disjointed, and the logical flow between the problem and the solution could be smoother. While there is a clear attempt at paragraphing, the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety and precision to improve the overall flow of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and contains several errors. There are frequent spelling and word-choice mistakes, such as 'lost' instead of 'lot', 'apatite' instead of 'appetite', and 'environmental associated' instead of 'environmental issues'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'mitigate', 'detrimental', and 'sophisticated', the misuse of basic terms limits the overall effectiveness of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary and focusing on correct collocations would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('farmers have became'), incorrect preposition usage ('responsible to it'), and awkward phrasing ('government should some strict rules'). These errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning unclear. While you attempt complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips, such as verb tenses and article usage, to ensure your writing is more accurate.
