Student answer (Band 6.0)
Despite the technological advances made in agriculture, high-rate of hunger is still at the increase. This persistent problem is primarily driven by inequitable food distribution and poverty, but it can be mitigated through infrastructure development and international cooperation.
First and foremost, unequal food sharing has drastically reduced many peoples ability to get food, especially the vulnerable masses. The reason is that most influential individuals consume large production of food produce. As a result, this becomes difficult for people from disadvantaged backgrounds to have food. For instance, many citizens from low socio-economic status in Nigeria may experience famine, despite having great technological advancements in agriculture. Furthermore, poverty may make the public to have less access to food. When many individuals are unemployed in society, providing food for their families may be demanding as they may not have enough funds to cater to them. Consequently, this may have a negative impact on them.
To address this global challenge, government could mitigate this issue by ensuring food gets to the poor masses through providing surveillances in rural areas. in order to make sure it gets to them. Additionally, international cooperation can contribute by providing adequate technological facilities such as good transport system which could make transporting food to the poor masses efficient. If these measures are carried out, there would be adequate and enough food to distribute, regardless of people's socio-economic backgrounds. As a result, this may improve their means of survival.
In conclusion, although there are advances in agriculture, people still go hungry. This is particularly caused by unequal distribution of food and poverty. However, it can be resolved through development of infrastructure and international cooperation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for persistent hunger and potential solutions. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of 'unequal food sharing' is vague, and the link between 'influential individuals' and food scarcity lacks a concrete logical bridge. While the example of Nigeria is relevant, the analysis remains at a surface level. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations of how specific agricultural policies or economic structures directly influence food availability, rather than relying on general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and foremost', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the sentence fragment 'in order to make sure it gets to them' in the third paragraph. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall progression of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'inequitable', 'mitigated', and 'socio-economic'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'high-rate of hunger is still at the increase' is unnatural; 'hunger rates are still increasing' would be more precise. Similarly, 'providing surveillances' is an incorrect collocation in this context. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Expanding your repertoire of academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'many peoples ability' (missing apostrophe), 'make the public to have' (incorrect verb pattern), and 'adequate and enough' (redundant). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of lowercase letters after periods. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will help improve your accuracy.
