Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 207 words long and remains unfinished. While the introduction and the first body paragraph address the causes of hunger, the response is incomplete, lacking a full discussion of solutions and a conclusion. Because the response is significantly under-length and truncated, it cannot fully develop the ideas required by the prompt. To improve, you must ensure you complete all parts of the task and provide sufficient supporting detail for each point to meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay shows some logical organization, with an introduction and a body paragraph that attempts to group ideas. However, the abrupt ending makes it impossible to evaluate the overall structure or the use of paragraphing effectively. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'Therefore' are used, but the flow is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. To achieve a higher score, ensure that each paragraph is fully developed and that you use a wider range of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly throughout the entire essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher levels. You rely on basic phrasing, such as 'poor people' and 'do not work,' which limits the sophistication of your argument. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'one time mean' (likely intended as 'one meal') and 'advance technology' (should be 'advanced technology'). To improve, focus on using more academic vocabulary and ensure your word choices are accurate and contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'poor individuals do not work and does not have' contains a subject-verb agreement error. Additionally, there are issues with punctuation and sentence construction, such as the run-on sentence in the first body paragraph. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, consistent verb tense usage, and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures will also help improve your score.
