Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, due to advancement in technology, many groups of individuals are doing farming;however, a wide range of people still living in hungry. I will discuss problem and solution for this issue in following paragraphs.
On the one hand, there are multiple reasons for why some people does not have food for nutrition. The first and foremost, new agricultural equipments are more expensive. In other words, some developing countries cannot afford highcost tools and they can not do farming for themselves. As a result, the country's people are living in hungry situation. For example, in south Africa, a wide range of individuals can not afford a food and not able to do farming so, they living in hungry.
On the other hand, this issue can be solved by government and private companies. To explain, if government can provide equipment and food supplies for poor individuals it is beneficial for them because they can do farming and take their necessary things. Moreover, developed countries such as Canada, the U.S.A should help to the developing countries for financial situation so this is beneficial for both the countries.
In conclusion, although due to advancement in technology farming is easier, but some developing countries cannot afford agricultural equipment so as per my opinion government should provides necessary equipment to the poor people. Thus this issue can be solved by financial help.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt (reasons for hunger and potential solutions). However, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth or specific evidence. The essay is also under the 250-word minimum, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the response. While the position is clear, the arguments remain superficial, such as the brief mention of agricultural equipment costs. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your points with more detailed explanations and concrete examples, ensuring the essay meets the required length to allow for a comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow is often mechanical, and some transitions are awkward, such as 'take their necessary things'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the progression of ideas feels repetitive. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next, rather than relying on simple, repetitive structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'doing farming' and 'living in hungry', which are grammatically incorrect and lack precision. There is little attempt to use less common or academic vocabulary. To improve, you should focus on learning collocations related to agriculture and global issues, such as 'food insecurity' or 'technological advancement'. Expanding your range of synonyms and ensuring correct word forms (e.g., using 'hunger' instead of 'hungry' as a noun) is essential for a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('some people does not have', 'they living in hungry') and incorrect article usage. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. When complex structures are attempted, they often contain errors that impede clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles. Increasing your control over simple sentences before moving to complex ones will help reduce the frequency of errors.
