Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for global hunger and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'conflicts and wars' is mentioned, but the explanation is brief and lacks depth. Similarly, the solutions provided, such as 'making of sector', are vague and lack practical detail. While the response covers the requirements, the ideas are not fully extended or supported with specific examples, which limits the depth of the analysis. To improve, you should aim to elaborate on your points with more concrete evidence or logical explanations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. For example, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some sentences feel disconnected from the previous ones. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'It cannot reach the people those have needs of this.' Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider range of cohesive markers would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'big issue' and 'some steps'. There are also instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'the bomb exploits the farmers crop' and 'Farmers must be care about'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that your collocations are natural. Expanding your range of synonyms and avoiding repetitive phrasing will also help.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('many areas faces'), article usage, and sentence fragments. For example, 'Poverty is one of the reason' should be 'one of the reasons'. Additionally, the punctuation and sentence structure are often inconsistent, which can impede the reader's understanding. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would be beneficial.
