Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying population growth as a cause and government intervention as a solution. However, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. The ideas are somewhat superficial; for instance, the explanation of how population growth affects agriculture is vague. The examples provided, such as the mention of India, are relevant but lack sufficient detail to fully support the argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with more specific evidence and ensure the essay meets the length requirement to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as the transition 'although, over the years it seemed to be modernized, but a lot of people...'. Additionally, some sentences lack logical flow, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed at times. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help create a smoother, more professional flow throughout your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'big' or 'a lot of', and there are some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'agriculture department has been also effected' (should be 'affected') and 'highly not neglectable'. There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'starvation cause deaths'. To improve, focus on learning more academic collocations and synonyms to express your ideas with greater sophistication and accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('many people faces hunger', 'people who has lower income') and awkward phrasing ('they would have eat anything which are not even healthy'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While your meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures to improve accuracy.
