Student answer (Band 5.5)
Now a days, it is commonly observed that despite the technological advancements in the field of agriculture, a huge population around the globe still starve. This might be due to various reasons and there are a few initiatives to tackle this issue.
To begin with the causes, the most common reason is the the problem of poverty. Despite the facilities provided in large scale, civilians still could not afford basic necessity of food. Moreover, another possible reason for this problem is poor infrastructure. Some national authorities lack sufficient funds that could fulfil the needs of all the people nationwide. This is a common issue that many countries face .The poor development of distribution system often leads to an immediate decline in food production.
However ,this is an issue that can be solved using rightful initiatives. Initially, the first and foremost action should be the government increasing and improvising the scale of the distribution .This would help reach all the citizens with sufficient quantity of food including the ones living in slum areas. Furthermore, adding to this, authorities must also provide better schemes related to food costs so that maximum people could afford and access this standard facility.
It is clear from all the perspectives that hunger is still a global issue despite all the advancements in technology .However, this problem can be solved by proper implementations taken by the food authorities worldwide like improving the infrastructure and increasing the production.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes of hunger and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat limited. The ideas regarding poverty and infrastructure are mentioned but lack specific examples or depth, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement score. To improve, you should expand on your points with concrete examples—such as mentioning specific regions or types of agricultural policies—to ensure a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'Furthermore' are used to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly repetitive. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the progression of ideas could be smoother. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that each paragraph builds more naturally upon the previous one, rather than just listing points.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'technological advancements,' 'infrastructure,' and 'distribution system.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'improvising the scale' (where 'improving' or 'expanding' would be more precise). To achieve a higher score, incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to global issues and economics to demonstrate a wider lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Now a days' (should be 'Nowadays'), 'the the' (repetition), and 'maximum people' (should be 'as many people as possible'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and punctuation errors to improve your accuracy.
