Student answer (Band 5.5)
Despite being getting advanced in agricultural instruments day by day and raising awareness about the usage of fertilizers among farmers ,conducting seminars and internships , we are still facing the hunger issues .
The main reason is a progressive increase in human population over the period. The resource means require to meet the expectations are much lesser. As you can see , my country , Pakistan is an agricultural land , production of crops are expected to be much higher but still we have to export goods from the neighboring country to meet our daily needs.
Second reason can be the weather conditions . As in most of the countries , where the season remains cold throughout the year or sun appears once in a blue moon , so it is not a piece of cake to grow and then, harvest crops in lands such as Kazakhstan. Goods are exported to such lands by other countries that lead to inflation , our third contributing factor . The rates of exported goods are extremely higher that a lay man person cannot afford.
Another reason can be difficulty in transportation from one country to another because most of the food gets rotten or spoiled even during the travelling period , vehicle gets stuck and all the food gets wasted. As sometimes a glacier block the road pathways and now you have no other choice than to wait.
In conclusion , i will like to say , increase in human population , less resources , weather conditions and difficulty in transportation are the main contributing factors to hunger in general. We can work on these things by introducing frozen foods and can definitely reduce the rate.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for hunger and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention population growth, weather, and transportation, the explanations lack depth and specific evidence. For instance, the suggestion to use 'frozen foods' as a primary solution to global hunger is not well-supported or realistic in an academic context. The position is clear, but the arguments would benefit from more detailed analysis and more practical, globally applicable solutions rather than relying on personal anecdotes or simplistic suggestions. To improve, ensure each point is fully extended with logical reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow between ideas is sometimes mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'The main reason' and 'In conclusion', but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are occasionally abrupt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the paragraph regarding weather, where the connection between the climate of Kazakhstan and global inflation is not logically linked. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on some informal or imprecise phrasing, such as 'piece of cake' and 'lay man person'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'resource means require' and 'rates... are extremely higher'. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'agricultural', 'fertilizers', and 'inflation', the range is limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and avoiding informal idioms in formal writing tasks.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('production of crops are'), incorrect article usage ('a glacier block'), and awkward phrasing ('Despite being getting advanced'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of complex sentence construction. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy before attempting more complex structures would be beneficial.
