Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, inhabitants in many countries are still suffer for shortage of food, though they have agricultural advancement and i would like to highlight two specific reason behind this, one of is climate change and another is money management.
Firstly, in recent years our surrandings changed for technological advancement. Population are increased and for that reason trees are cuts down, as a result they get shortage field for crops, but it is easier as we have advanced technology in agriculture. However, for deforestation we have to face some natural disaster like cyclone, flood etc. For example, in Bangladesh which is the most overpopulated country, every year a lot of people die by hungry as their harvests crops and field were destroyed. To solve this problem, we can introduce sustainable development and encouraged other people to aware about environment, we also can reduce our carbon footprint.
Secondly, although people earned a good amount of money, they still go hungry because of poor money management. For instance, if i talk about an person who belongs to a middle class family and worked with a small amount of money which is enough for him just for live, but if he buy unnecessary thing and get unplanned trips which can make him empty in the end of the month. So, to encounter this problem, we can taught individuals how to manage their money and it will be efficient for them.
To sum up, it is a global phenomenon but if we help governments to take steps to solve this issue and work together, this problem will be solved.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: causes of hunger and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The argument regarding 'money management' as a primary cause for global hunger is not well-supported and lacks a broader perspective, as it focuses on individual financial habits rather than systemic economic issues. While the climate change argument is more relevant, the connection between deforestation and individual hunger in Bangladesh could be more clearly articulated. The response covers the requirements, but the depth of analysis is limited, which prevents it from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'However', and 'To sum up', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'one of is climate change'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'suffer for shortage of food' (should be 'suffer from'), 'trees are cuts down' (should be 'cut down'), and 'make him empty' (should be 'leave him with no money'). The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'sustainable development' and 'carbon footprint', but the overall lexical control is inconsistent, which limits the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Population are increased'), incorrect verb forms ('we can taught'), and missing articles or prepositions ('die by hungry'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the writing from achieving a higher band. More attention to tense consistency and sentence structure is needed.
