Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for hunger and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation of poverty is brief, and the link between climate change and food security is hampered by imprecise language (e.g., 'fluids' instead of 'floods'). While the solutions are relevant, they lack depth; the suggestion to provide 'good fertilizers' is a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or logical steps, ensuring that the connection between the cause and the effect is clearly articulated throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'if governments takes steps... it will be diminish soon'. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the logical flow within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by grammatical errors. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'surviving from this circumstances', 'fluids' (intended as floods), and 'well paid sellary'. You also use 'corps' instead of 'crops'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the frequent errors in word formation and spelling occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To improve, focus on learning the correct context for words and pay closer attention to spelling and common collocations related to global issues.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'governments takes'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'were damage', 'were died'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments and comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage to improve your accuracy.
