Student answer (Band 5.0)
In present age system of harvesting and process of agriculture has been developed but in world millions of people are hungry.
In my opinion, there are many reasons of it. For example, carelessness of governments, climate change, poor system of food distribution, lake of food banks, high amount of food stock by market investors etc. Another big problem of this issue is that over population. Now it is one of the big all over the world. As farming method of has been improved but population is going to increase. In developed countries it has been controlled but in underdeveloped states population is going increase. It is one of biggest problem all over the world.
Talking about solutions of this problem is that government should ne care about food preservation and food safety. One of some solutions to control such factors who are destroying climate of the world. Another way to control high food consumption is control on population. To provide food to hungry people we need to improve our transport system. Another reason which is mandatory to control is wars all over the world. For example if we take example from present era is that war between Israel and Palestine. In Gaza which is most destroyed city of Palestine, thousands are are homeless and hungry due to war. Millions are died due due to hunger every year.
In conclusion, I want to say that we need to control change of climate, wars. It is necessary to make a food bank which will be deal food problems all over the world

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for global hunger and potential solutions. However, the development of these ideas is limited. While you mention factors like climate change, government negligence, and overpopulation, these points are listed rather than explained in depth. For example, the link between 'market investors' and hunger is mentioned but not expanded upon. Similarly, the solutions provided, such as 'food banks' and 'transport systems,' are brief. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations and specific examples for each point, ensuring that the connection between the problem and the proposed solution is clearly articulated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. There is a lack of logical progression between sentences, and the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'Another big problem of this issue is that...'). The transition between the problem and the solution is abrupt. Furthermore, the referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' 'in addition to this') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'lake of food banks' (likely meaning 'lack') and 'system of harvesting and process of agriculture.' The phrasing 'big all over the world' is too informal and imprecise for an academic essay. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'food preservation' and 'underdeveloped states,' the overall range is limited. You should focus on learning more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating simple words like 'big' or 'problem.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'population is going increase'), missing articles (e.g., 'in world'), and incorrect preposition usage. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'One of some solutions to control such factors who are destroying climate.' Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, you should practice constructing complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions and focus on proofreading for basic errors like verb tense consistency and article usage.
