Student answer (Band 6.0)
Agriculture plays an important role and it is a controversial issue nowdays even advancements have been made in agricultural systems, but some people are still starving due to inadequate foods. I believe that there are several reasons associated with this issue and and this essay will also explain some possible measures that can be taken to tackle this issue. There are obious reasons regarding people not getting enough foods inspite of better agricultural technology. Firstly, it is due to the high inflation rates. In other words, as farmers use costly equipments as well as better material like pesticides, good fertilizers and manure which require huge costs including shipment of their crops to market. Owing to the fact market sellers and vendors sell all fruits and vegetables at a high costs to customers. Only people with good finances can afford these agricultural products. To cite an example, as it is commonly seen in India that prices of onions are double now that was in the past times. Moreover, in order to expand their business farmers started using inorganic farming that will directly put a detrimental effects on the health of individuals. For example, organic bananas usually take 5-7 days to ripen, but manufacturers inject special kinds of chemical inside them which ripens them in one day. Because of this individuals specially youngsters have throat problems.
There will be many solutions to tackle this starving problem. The first and foremost is that government should banned the use of chemical fertilizers. In other words, government should held campaigns and advertisements about these kinds of manufacturing industries who make chemical fertilizers and strict actions should be taken if any farmer or industry continues this process. In addition, authorities should also help those people by providing the necessities every month like rice, flour and other useable items and it will definetly help large number of needy people.
In conclusion, no doubt there are a large number of problems which people are facing inspite of better agricultural technology due to high costs and inorganic farming, bur certain poosible measures can help to resolve this issue in a better way like government support and banning of chemical fertilizers

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for global hunger and potential solutions. However, the development is uneven. While the explanation of high costs is relevant, the focus on 'inorganic farming' and chemical fertilizers as a primary cause of global hunger is somewhat tangential and lacks a broader perspective on issues like poverty, food distribution, or political instability. The solutions are also somewhat narrow, focusing almost exclusively on banning chemicals and government handouts. To reach a higher band, you should broaden your scope to include systemic issues like supply chain inefficiencies or economic inequality, ensuring your arguments are more balanced and fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. There are also instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the transition between the discussion of high costs and the shift to inorganic farming. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure would benefit from more sophisticated linking words to connect ideas more fluidly between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You use some basic terms repeatedly, such as 'high costs' and 'agricultural technology'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'inadequate foods' (should be 'inadequate food supplies') and 'useable items' (should be 'essential goods'). While the meaning is clear, the range is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. Expanding your vocabulary related to economics and agriculture would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'government should held'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'government should banned'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often marred by these errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that modal verbs are followed by the correct base form of the verb.
