Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and solutions—but the development is quite limited. The ideas, such as 'unequal distribution' and 'government-run food shops,' are relevant but are explained in a very simplistic and repetitive manner. The arguments lack depth, and the examples provided are generic and lack specific detail or real-world context. The position is clear, but the overall response is underdeveloped, failing to explore the complexity of the issue, which is expected at this level. To improve, you should expand on your points with more sophisticated reasoning and concrete examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'In the causes,' 'In the solution,' and 'As a result' are used frequently and often incorrectly. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is somewhat disjointed, and the referencing (e.g., 'this shops') is often inaccurate. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns and references clearly point to their antecedents would significantly improve the flow and logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There is significant repetition of basic words like 'food,' 'people,' 'government,' and 'hungry.' You also struggle with word forms and collocations, such as 'suffer with hungry' (should be 'suffer from hunger') and 'become death' (should be 'die'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the precision required for higher bands. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repetitive and unnatural phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are frequently marred by grammatical errors, such as 'government is not provide' and 'they not survive.' Subject-verb agreement, article usage, and verb tense consistency are problematic throughout the text. These errors are frequent and occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. To reach a higher band, you need to work on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and gradually incorporating more complex structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences with greater accuracy.
