Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, identifying causes such as inefficient supply chains, poor purchasing power, food waste, and natural calamities, while suggesting solutions like modern agricultural innovations and government subsidies. However, the development of these ideas is limited and hampered by unclear phrasing, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. Expressions such as "governce import food by devlop countrys and is expensive that's why poor family not afforts this food" demonstrate under-developed points where the argument lacks sufficient clarity and depth. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the lack of fully elaborated examples and structural vagueness place this response at Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which provides a basic organisational structure. However, progression is frequently disrupted by mechanical and faulty cohesion, as seen in abrupt transitions like "there are many reason and solutions, I will be exxplain in upcoming paragraphs." Referencing is often unclear, and cohesive devices are either misused or absent, resulting in a disjointed reading experience. The conclusion is extremely brief and fails to effectively summarise the main points. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks smooth logical links, aligning the response with Band 4.5, rounded to Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and heavily restricted by frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally impede communication. Words like "Nowdays", "advancemnet", "becouse", "ineficinet", "infastrcutre", "commecially", "purchsinng", "devlop", and "subcidies" appear throughout the text. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items such as "calamites" and "innovation", but these attempts are undermined by severe morphological and orthographic inaccuracies. The range is minimally adequate for expressing basic thoughts, but the density of lexical errors firmly places this response at Band 4.5, rounded down to Band 4.0 based on severe spelling limitations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions or faulty dependent clauses. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by severe structural errors, incorrect verb tenses, and missing subjects or verbs, such as in the opening sentence: "Nowdays, the countries spite o the advancemnet made in agriculture, many people around the world still go hungry..." Punctuation is also problematic, with missing capitalisation and run-on phrasing. Errors are frequent and often distort meaning, requiring the reader to decode the intended message. This reflects the descriptors for Band 4.
