Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring the reasons behind global hunger (such as climate change and inadequate transport systems) and proposing solutions (such as government intervention and agricultural technology). However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on climate change remains general and lacks specific, well-articulated examples to fully substantiate the claims. Phrases like 'the lack of transports system' touch on relevant issues, but the supporting arguments are not fully extended. Furthermore, the position is not always clearly maintained due to minor structural tangents in the conclusion. The writer meets the task requirements in terms of addressing the prompt's core questions, but the depth of content and idea development aligns more closely with a Band 5.5 or 6.0 descriptor. Overall, it is awarded a band score of 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing basic paragraphing structure. However, logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing sentence connections. For example, the transitional phrase 'To coomence with the plenty of reasons...' is clumsy, and the sentence 'To conclude, it can br finally conclude that...' exhibits redundancy and poor cohesion. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or over-used, and referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of arguments effortlessly. The overall arrangement attempts to be coherent, but mechanical errors in linking ideas pull the score down to a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'advancement of technolgy', 'agricultural sector', and 'natural disasters', but encounters frequent spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text. Examples include 'technolgy', 'agricutural', 'nutritions', 'hugryness', 'transports sysytem', and 'satrisfy'. Some expressions are unnatural or unidiomatic, such as 'human population in many parts of the world still not satisfy'. While the vocabulary used is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, the high frequency of lexical and spelling inaccuracies prevents the response from achieving a higher band. Therefore, this criterion is awarded a band score of 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences frequently result in serious structural errors and confusion. Examples of problematic grammar include 'due to advancement of technolgy... still not satisfy with their nutritions' and 'farmers who could not be grow foods as many as they need due to that it will increased the shortage rate'. Punctuation and subject-verb agreement are weak, with run-on sentences dominating the body paragraphs. Frequent errors in basic tense usage and clause structures cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning in several places. These persistent grammatical inaccuracies correspond to a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.
