Student answer (Band 4.5)

Today i would talk about advance made in agriculture but many people word still go hungry. In todays world many machinery used in agriculture field which is very good for production and doing work. The machinery made agriculture very easy and good. But many people live very poor life. There is no much food for their eat.

The main reason is that government could not take steps to improve the agriculture industry. The farmers are very sad. They stop working in agriculture field. example is that first they grow the rice crops, at the time of growing the rice rate is very high. The farmers looked very well of it. They sprayed the rice and get water in it. The government get benefit from it. They high the diesel prices. But at the time of harvesting government should down the rate of rice and other crops, so that is why farmer get very low prophet from it. That is why farmers are not ready to sell their crops after some time their is a shortage of crops. Government imported the crops to fulfil the need of shortage. They imported crops rate is very high so that is why poor peoples do not get it. This the the main reason advance made in agriculture many people around the world still go hungry.

The government should take solid steps to improve in agriculture field. First need is the government should work to improve the rates of fuel and the crops. Government should give facility to farmers so they will be ready to work in the field. They invest in this field and improve it. GOV give farmer card and loan card to farmers so they will be able to work in the field. All these things are improve the agriculture field.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why people still go hungry despite agricultural advances and suggesting solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and relies heavily on simplistic reasoning regarding government policies and fuel prices. For instance, the example provided about rice cultivation and government price manipulation is anecdotal and lacks broader analytical depth. The position is stated, but the explanation remains repetitive and overly reliant on generalisations about farmers being sad and poor people lacking access. This corresponds to Band 5, as the task is addressed, but ideas are under-developed and limited in scope.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is divided into three paragraphs corresponding to the introduction, body, and conclusion, but the overall organisation lacks a clear logical progression. Cohesive devices are very basic and frequently misused, such as repetitive transitions like 'That is why' and 'So that is why' throughout the second paragraph. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for example in sentences like 'They imported crops rate is very high so that is why poor peoples do not get it.' Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal flow of ideas is disjointed and mechanical. This performance aligns with Band 4, as information and ideas are not arranged coherently enough to ensure smooth progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with frequent errors in word choice and form. Examples include phrases like 'advance made in agriculture', 'doing work', and 'low prophet' instead of profit. The writer attempts some less common terms like 'agriculture field' and 'imported', but these are used inaccurately or repetitively. Spelling and morphological errors, such as 'Today i' instead of 'Today I' and 'peoples' instead of 'people', further restrict the lexical range. Because the vocabulary is basic and errors cause some difficulty for the reader, a Band 4 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting predominantly of simple sentences with frequent structural errors. There are multiple instances of missing articles, incorrect verb tenses, and faulty subject-verb agreement, such as 'many machinery used' and 'government should down the rate'. Complex structures are rarely attempted, and when they are, they are typically faulty or ungrammatical, such as 'All these things are improve the agriculture field.' Punctuation is also problematic, with lower-case pronouns and run-on structures. These persistent errors that frequently distort meaning place the response firmly in Band 4.
