Student answer (Band 5.0)

Advance technology has been now using in the agriculture field to grow the crops and increase the growth from them to gain more resources and also imoprove their quality.

First of all, alot of different advance equipment have been used now a days in farming to incrase the comfort of the farmers, and also to make the crops healthy. for example automatic water spraying machines are used in fields to provide water to the crops on time efficently, these kind of devices are commonly used by farmers to save time and labour cost spend in the fields, it also helps to increase the profit ratio.

Secondly, other technologies have been also been used for farming to kill the pest which are may harmfull to crops, but beside these technologies many people aroud the world are still facing hunger because of the lact of natural resources and poverty, In the developing countries like indian bangladesh, a lot of people face poverty, due to the lack of natural and financial resources, there is no land that much land to fullfill the whole countrys need of natural resources and it is also a big reason of hunger, because when these natural resources are been imported from other countries the price is too high for the porr people and they eventually cant afford the proper meal.

There are quite of few things which we can do to save people from hunger is to give donations, or give natural resources like wheat, grains and rice to these developing countries to fullfill there needs, and the other way is to give concession to them on these resources to make them stable, and lastly the other thing we can do is start trading for the things for what they have.

In conclusion, more and more technologies have been using in the agriculture field but still it is not enough to fullfill the need of everyone, hunger can only be terminated by understanding, and humanity to feel the pain of other

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why people still go hungry despite agricultural advancements and suggesting solutions such as donations and trade concessions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and lacks depth. For instance, the explanation regarding poverty and natural resources is brief and relies on generalisations without fully exploring the socio-economic factors at play. The student attempts to explain the causes and solutions, but the arguments remain at a superficial level. According to the band descriptors, this falls under Band 5.0, as the task is addressed, but the ideas are underdeveloped and the position is not always clearly sustained throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some organisation with basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. However, paragraphing and logical progression are problematic. The second paragraph is excessively long and crams multiple ideas together without clear internal structuring. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, and cohesive devices are used mechanically. There is a lack of smooth transitions between the discussion of agricultural technology and the causes of hunger, which disrupts the flow of the text. This aligns with Band 5.0 descriptors, where there is some organisation and use of cohesive devices, but overall progression is lacking and referencing is sometimes faulty.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in spelling, word choice, and word formation. Examples include 'Advance technology' instead of 'Advanced technology', 'alot' instead of 'a lot', 'imoprove' instead of 'improve', and 'lac' or 'lact' instead of 'lack'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'profit ratio' and 'concession', but frequent inaccuracies in spelling and collocation cause some difficulty for the reader. There is also misuse of terms, such as 'trading for the things for what they have'. These issues place the response firmly in the Band 5.0 category, characterised by a limited and minimally adequate vocabulary range with noticeable errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammatical range is limited, relying heavily on simple structures and long, run-on sentences joined by commas rather than appropriate conjunctions or punctuation (e.g., 'for example automatic water spraying machines are used in fields to provide water to the crops on time efficently, these kind of devices are commonly used...'). There are frequent errors in verb forms and passive voice constructions, such as 'have been now using', 'have been also been used', and 'are been imported'. Punctuation is also weak, with missing capitalisation at the beginning of sentences and improper comma splices. These persistent errors restrict the score to Band 4.0 or 5.0; given that some complex structures are attempted despite high error frequency, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
