Student answer (Band 5.0)
We are currently livving in a era full of technology. The world is becoming advance day by day. Now a days every field of life is opting for advance machinery and are making sure that they get full benefit of technology. That is samething happening in the field of Agriculture. About 50 years ago most of the people in the world were living in rural areas and there occupation was farming.
They didn't have that much technology at that time and they cannot produce much food to feed the hungry ones.
But in todays world despite being more modern and possessing more technology the problem still remain the same.No doubt the agriculture industry is using more technology but still the industry fail to feed the hungry people.
The main and the most important reason for this situation is not producing much food, it is the world's population. The world population is increasing so rapidly that in a recent research by a private magazine shows that every 5 seconds a new baby is being born. The world food resources are becoming less as compared to the worlds population. The number of people being born is more than the people being dieing.
For instance, Pakistans population is 250 million and the food resources are only covering the one third of the population and feed the left one's the government have to import food from other countries etc.
In conclusion, if the world population is somehow being controlled only then the problem of hunger can be solved. And for that all the governments of countries should educate there people of controlling birth rate and making sure that everybody follows the instructions regarding this situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring reasons why hunger persists despite technological advances in agriculture, and suggesting solutions focused on population control. A position is presented, and the main reason given is the rapid increase in the world's population relative to food resources. However, the ideas are relatively basic and lack depth and extension. For example, the student mentions that Pakistan's population is 250 million and that resources cover only one-third, but this point is underdeveloped and lacks broader economic or distribution-related context. Furthermore, the solution is narrowly focused solely on birth rates, overlooking other vital factors such as food distribution, waste, and economic inequality. Consequently, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, placing the response at Band 5.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response has a basic overall structure, divided into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing the prompt, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, though some paragraphs are quite brief. Logical progression is evident between the problem and the suggested solution, but cohesive devices are limited and at times repetitive or inaccurate. For instance, transitional phrases like 'That is samething happening' and 'In conclusion, if the world population is somehow being controlled only then' reflect mechanical and awkward referencing. Cohesion is sometimes faulty, and referencing is not always clear, which restricts the flow of ideas. This overall pattern of organization aligns best with Band 5.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, incorporating topic-related words such as 'agriculture', 'machinery', 'resources', 'population', and 'government'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'livving', 'era full of technology', 'advance' instead of 'advanced', 'samething', 'dieing', and 'there' instead of 'their'. These errors can cause occasional difficulty for the reader, although communication is generally maintained. The lack of precise control over less common lexical items keeps the score at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response displays a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic compound forms. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, such as in the conditional structure 'if the world population is somehow being controlled only then the problem of hunger can be solved'. There are also recurrent punctuation and agreement errors, such as 'industry fail' instead of 'industry fails', and incorrect verb forms. Frequent grammatical errors cause noticeable strain and difficulty for the reader, which is characteristic of a Band 5.0 performance.
