Student answer (Band 5.0)
Irrespective of the progress made in agriculture, many individuals around the globe still go famish.
Agriculture has been in extistance since the 19th century and it has also been a source to food to people and animals over the world, as at then agriculture was as simple as planting and plucking fruits from the trees without passing various process or using advance mechanics.
As technology began to advance along the years, new tool are invented to make work easier, faster, smoother. For example instead of using hands to manually water the plants, a tank with pipe automatically waters the plant, which brings about reduction in human effort, manure are also used to give nutrients to the plants. However the reasons for all of this improvement is to harvest more fruits within a short period of time, reduce workload been done by labourers and feed as many people as possible.
But despite all of this advancement people still go hungry because there might be shortage of fruits to feed them or they might get tired of eating agricultural produce as time goes on. Eeven though some of the agricutural produce are been processed some people might not have enough money to purchase them.
How this probelm can be solved is the government providing a subsidy to people that can't afford to have a proper meal, as this will make them purchase food and not go hungry. Futhermore agricultural produce can be processed into various varities as this will make people have enough choice to pick from.
In conclusion, food should be easily made accessible so people won't go hungry.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The student addresses both parts of the prompt: why people still go hungry despite agricultural advances, and what solutions can be implemented. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and simplistic. For instance, the reason provided that people might get tired of eating agricultural produce lacks logical soundness and sufficient extension. The position is generally clear, but the arguments remain rather basic. While the prompt is addressed, the depth of explanation corresponds best to the Band 5 descriptors, as the ideas are underdeveloped and rely on broad generalisations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is organized into distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by weak referencing and abrupt transitions. For example, the sentence starting with 'How this probelm can be solved is...' is awkward and disrupts cohesion. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or misused, such as the use of 'But' to start a sentence or the disjointed flow between paragraphs. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion requires improvement. This performance aligns with Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it contains notable errors in word choice and form, such as 'go famish' instead of 'go hungry', 'extistance' (existence), and 'varities' (varieties). The range of vocabulary is limited, and attempts to use less common items result in unnatural collocations or inaccurate forms, such as 'advance mechanics'. While meaning is generally conveyed, these noticeable errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from reaching a Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex sentences contain structural flaws. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('new tool are invented', 'workload been done'), punctuation mistakes, and missing articles. Run-on sentences without proper punctuation also occur, as seen in 'new tool are invented to make work easier, faster, smoother.' These persistent errors place the writing firmly in Band 5.
