Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many parts of the world agriculture developments millions of people still suffering from hunger. However, I believe that poverty and poor government planning can be considered the root causes of this concern, and how through financial assitance and good governement policies, this problem can be curtailed.
There are multiple causes of this topic. Firstly, poverty can be labelled as the leading cause of this problem. As the people of developing countries facing poverty due to which they can't afford quality food even their have it's own growth due to lack of sufficient nutrient food not even children adults also facing major health issues. Take an example of South Africa, in a press release government issued a statement that around 75 percent of the health issues from coming insufficient nutirients and all these patients belong to backward areas of the country. Thus, poverty can be considered as the fueling force behind this issue.
Secondly, apart from poverty, poor government policies is also major contribution factor in this menace. As in some parts of the world government showed zero interest to remove the hunger of the millions of their people. For instance, in Kenya, due to poor government policies millions of tons food smuggled that causes the shortage and high prices in the region. Hence, poor government policies can be considered as the breeding ground of this problem.
However, there are certain viable measures that can be taken to curb this concern. The primary sollution I believe would be a financial assistance from some developed countries. As developed countries intiate a project to help financially poor people of the developing countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the task by identifying causes (poverty, poor government planning) and proposing solutions (financial assistance, government policies), fulfilling the core requirements. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and lacks depth. For example, the solution paragraph stops abruptly after mentioning financial assistance without fully exploring how it would resolve the issue or providing concrete elaboration. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the supporting arguments, such as the example regarding food smuggling in Kenya, remain somewhat brief and under-developed. This aligns closely with the Band 6 descriptor, where all parts are addressed, but some elements are under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, causes, and solutions into distinct sections. Basic cohesive devices are employed to signal progression, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'However'. Nevertheless, referencing and logical transitions are occasionally faulty or mechanical. For instance, the opening sentence of the essay suffers from serious grammatical and structural fragmentation, which disrupts the flow of the introduction. Additionally, the transition into the conclusion or final solution paragraph feels incomplete and abruptly truncated, lacking cohesive ties to the rest of the text. Because referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'curtailed', 'fueling force', and 'breeding ground'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice, form, and collocation that occasionally impede understanding. Examples include 'agriculture developments' instead of 'agricultural developments', 'sufficient nutrient food' instead of 'nutrient-rich food', and 'millions of tons food smuggled' instead of 'millions of tons of food being smuggled'. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'assitance', 'governement', 'sollution', and 'intiate'. These persistent inaccuracies place the response firmly in the Band 5 category, where lexical limitations and noticeable errors are characteristic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is weak throughout. Many sentences contain severe structural errors, particularly in the introduction: 'In many parts of the world agriculture developments millions of people still suffering from hunger.' This lacks a main verb and proper prepositional structure. Other issues include fragment sentences like 'As the people of developing countries facing poverty due to which they can't afford quality food even their have it's own growth...' which obstruct comprehension. Frequent errors in verb tense, auxiliary verbs, and relative clauses mean that error-free sentences are the exception rather than the rule. This performance corresponds to a Band 5 score.
