Student answer (Band 4.5)

Nowadays, The farmer had a lot of facilities in growing crops in agricultural land and they have advance material such has good seeds , water supply and medicacaine system which will safe there lot of expense therefore , still many peoples are suffering from food and go hungry and died from the hunger such has in central Africa majority of people died because of it .

This is the huge case where many of state did not focus , Meanwhile there are some countries were doing there best to provide food to their public and open a donation or welfare communities to provide poor people lot of facilities like giving them food , clothes , and giving them grockery in many rural area of their country .

We should also do many things to solve this problem . The government must support to poor family and low income family . they must open free food center in every village to providing them food in enough money . Food is a basic need of individuals , animals , birds and insect .

from my perspective, I strongly believe that food is a source of people , some people waste a lot of food in their weddings , party and in their home or restaurants however, People who live in rural area where suffering from hunger and they could not afford a piece of bread because of low income and at the end people do suicide . so we do not must waste food and government should increase salaries in low income family members or giving them enough tax charges .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying causes such as poor state focus, low income, and food waste, while suggesting solutions like government support and free food centers. However, the ideas are relatively undeveloped and lack sufficient supporting detail or specific examples, often relying on generalizations such as mentioning 'central Africa' without further elaboration. The position is somewhat unclear due to abrupt shifts in ideas and repetitive statements about food waste. The response touches upon the required elements of the task, but the lack of depth and the somewhat disjointed progression place it at the lower end of the task response spectrum. Consequently, it aligns best with the Band 5 descriptor for partially addressing the task with limited and under-developed ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The essay lacks clear overall progression and logical organisation. Paragraphing is handled poorly, with the entire text broken into somewhat arbitrary blocks that do not effectively separate distinct ideas, such as mixing causes, government solutions, and personal perspectives within the same sections. Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or used incorrectly, such as the frequent misuse of transitional phrases like 'Meanwhile' and 'therefore'. Referencing is frequently unclear, leaving the reader to guess connections between sentences, as seen in abrupt transitions between paragraphs. There is a noticeable lack of cohesive control throughout the text, leading to an overall arrangement that feels disjointed. These characteristics closely match the Band 4 descriptor for information and ideas not being arranged coherently.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and restricted in range. The student relies heavily on simple terms and makes frequent errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling, such as 'medicacaine', 'peoples', and 'grockery'. Attempts to use less common vocabulary are generally inaccurate or unnatural, such as 'giving them enough tax charges'. These lexical inadequacies and frequent errors often strain the reader's understanding and impede smooth communication at times. The range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying very basic messages, but it falls short of a Band 6 due to the high frequency of spelling and word-form errors. Therefore, the vocabulary aligns most accurately with the Band 5 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on repetitive simple or faulty complex sentences. There are frequent, persistent errors in punctuation, capitalization, and basic sentence construction, such as run-on sentences and incorrect verb tenses like 'the farmer had a lot of facilities' and 'people who live in rural area where suffering'. These frequent errors often distort the intended meaning and cause significant difficulty for the reader. While there are a few attempts at subordination, the lack of control over complex forms results in major inaccuracies throughout the text. The overall grammatical control and frequency of errors place this piece firmly at the Band 4 level, where errors are frequent and often impede meaning.
