Student answer (Band 5.0)
Although modern farming tecniques have greatly improved food production a large number of people around the world still suffer from hunger .
Therefore one of them main reasons for the hunger is poverty .In many developing countries ,people do not earn enough money to buy sufficient foods .At the same time, many farmers do not have access to modern machinery ,quality seeds fertilisers or proper irrigation systems. As the result they cannot produce enough carbs .
The government give some good machinery to farmers and provide them some oppurtunity so they give full output so if this step should riased the farmer should have been give full attention on their work .Therefore the farmer should give good output and if the circle go as well the poverty could be decreased because when the good amount of field should born there prices goes down so the poor people can buy this and just because of this there will many of the problem should be solved by it
In conclusion , world hunger is caused by factors such as poverty , conflict and poor food distribution and also lack of agriculture development .
Government and international orgranisation can help in this matter like to help farmers give them proper fertilizers ,seeds and a good machinery so this is the solution to decreases the poverty in a world many of the developed countries are following the same rule and their is not enough poverty in their country because they care their farmers and and know the farmers values in their country so thats why they developed countries

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the reasons for world hunger, such as poverty and lack of modern agricultural resources, and suggesting solutions like government and international aid. However, the ideas lack full development and depth. For instance, the statement 'farmers do not have access to modern machinery' is introduced but not sufficiently extended with specific examples or deep analysis. The conclusion introduces new points like 'conflict and poor food distribution' which were not properly integrated in the body paragraphs. The position is generally clear, but the reasoning and explanations in the third paragraph become muddled and repetitive. Because the prompt is addressed and key issues are identified, but the extension of ideas is limited and somewhat confused, the response fits the Band 5 descriptors well.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response shows an attempt at logical organisation, opening with an introduction, moving to body paragraphs covering causes and solutions, and ending with a conclusion. However, overall progression is hindered by poor sentence-level cohesion and inadequate paragraphing. The third paragraph is a single, extremely long, and run-on sentence ('The government give some good machinery...'), which makes it very difficult to follow the logical flow of ideas. Cohesive devices are often inaccurate, repetitive, or mechanically deployed ('Therefore', 'At the same time', 'As the result'). Referencing is also unclear at times, particularly with pronouns like 'this' used vaguely to refer to entire complex situations. Paragraphing is weak, as the main arguments bleed together without clear separation. These features align with the Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses a limited, minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including relevant terms like 'food production', 'developing countries', 'poverty', and 'irrigation systems'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'tecniques' instead of techniques, 'fertilisers', 'oppurtunity', 'riased', and 'orgranisation'. Word choices are sometimes imprecise or unnatural, for example, 'carbs' used instead of crops, and 'field should born' instead of crop yields increase. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general message, the frequent errors in spelling and word choice cause some difficulty for the reader, placing the response securely at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('The government give', 'prices goes down'), missing articles ('in a world'), and incorrect verb tenses/modal structures ('the farmer should have been give full attention'). Punctuation is particularly problematic, with missing periods at the end of sentences and erratic spacing before punctuation marks. Many complex sentences are run-on and structurally faulty, causing considerable difficulty for the reader to parse the meaning. These characteristics are typical of the Band 5 descriptor level.
