Student answer (Band 5.0)

Although the advancement made in agriculture, several individuals around the world still feel hungry. So, in the forthcoming paragraphs, I have discussed several reasons associated with this trend and also included some plausible remedies about this trend.

First of all, taking some reasons associated with this trend, first and foremost is majority of individuals don't want to do farming. Due to farming requires more hard working, effort, knowledge, etc. while in the contemporary era, individuals do several jobs in different sectors and they dont want to take some effort. For instance, people prefer to go office because it doesn't require too much effort for doing their work compared to the farming needs.

In addition, people who are financial independent. They doesn't want to do hard working also live their life with happiness without taking stress of money. For example, my best friend who is wealthy and her father have shop of merge computer, so they don't do farming like growing some plants, vegetables and fruits.

Now, considering some solution of this trend, first and foremost is Governemnt should implement the law that majority of individuals have to do farming who have their own land. By doing this, individuals grow varieties of plants, vegetables and fruits. As a result, the production of varities of vegetables and fruits will be increase and people cannot have to feel hungry bcause they don't have to go market for purchasing them.

To conclude, around the world many individuals feel hungry, although the advancement in the agriculture and reason behind this trend is many individuals are financial independent and they dont want to do hard working and for that govenemnt have to make some laws among who have their own land.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why people still go hungry despite agricultural advances, and what can be done about it. However, the ideas are relatively simplistic and underdeveloped. For instance, the argument that people do not want to farm because it requires hard work is quite basic and lacks depth. Additionally, the proposed solution—that the government should force landowners to farm—is impractical and lacks well-reasoned support. While a position is presented throughout the essay, the reasoning remains superficial and prone to over-generalisation. Consequently, the performance aligns well with the Band 5 descriptors, as the ideas are limited and partially developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall organization and logical progression are weak. The introduction relies heavily on meta-language ('So, in the forthcoming paragraphs, I have discussed...') rather than introducing the essay topic naturally. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and repetitively, such as the constant repetition of phrases like 'first and foremost' and 'taking some reasons associated with this trend.' Paragraphing is attempted, but the body paragraphs lack clear internal cohesion and fail to guide the reader smoothly from one point to the next, which restricts the score to Band 5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently struggling with word choice and collocation. Examples include 'advancement made in agriculture', 'feel hungry' instead of 'go hungry', and 'merge computer' instead of 'selling computers'. There are noticeable errors in word formation and phrasing, such as 'financial independent' instead of 'financially independent' and 'hard working' instead of 'hard work'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, the limited range and frequent inaccuracies place this criterion firmly at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Complex sentences are attempted, but they are almost invariably faulty, such as the fragment opening sentence: 'Although the advancement made in agriculture, several individuals around the world still feel hungry.' There are frequent errors in basic grammar, subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'She doesn't want', 'Governemnt should implement'), and article usage. These errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning in places, which corresponds to the Band 5 descriptors.
