Student answer (Band 5.5)

nowadays, governments is investing in agriculture sector however, still many people around the globaly still face hunger issues.

First of all, it is worth considering that government are working to full fill the requirement of food however, still people sleep hungry this is due to curruption for instance governments has maked kota for people who are below poverty line but midle class person is also having rashan card that means ultimately he his taking a food of a poor family moreover shopkeeper is also scams like by not giving ration they just say its empty now they all have a link .In addition due to high prices of vegetable because governments dont have a proper control on fluctuation of food prices.

Firstly , government should make a low which have the advantages for both farmers and consumers such as setting a minnium and maximum price in this farmer will also not go in losse and for consumer vegetables will be affordable secondly, governments have some changes in existance laws for instance governments should send the groccery or whatever which given during subsidy it should have the home delivery due to that there will less chances of scams . making law is easy but governments should maintan them that are they valuable people.

In conclusion, this happens due to low maintanace of rules . people can over come from this if all laws implemented properly moreover its our duty also if anyone find this kind of scam they should inform to superior instead of being part of that

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding the causes of global hunger and potential solutions, placing the essay securely in the middle tier. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed, which prevents a higher score. For example, while corruption and price fluctuation are rightly identified as causes, the explanation relies heavily on anecdotal mentions of ration cards and middlemen without broad elaboration or deeper economic context. Similarly, the proposed solutions—such as making laws for minimum and maximum prices and improving home delivery of subsidies—are stated simply rather than fully extended. The writer's position is generally clear, but the lack of thorough explanation and specific, well-reasoned support means the task is only partially addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some organization with a basic four-paragraph structure representing an introduction, body, and conclusion, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or overused, often relying on repetitive transitional words like 'however', 'moreover', and 'firstly' to link clauses rather than creating a smooth flow. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs suffers from run-on sentences and a lack of clear referencing, as seen in phrases like 'that are they valuable people'. While the reader can generally follow the train of thought, the mechanical use of cohesive ties and inconsistent logical sequencing hold the text back.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common terms and subject-specific vocabulary such as 'agriculture sector', 'poverty line', and 'subsidy', but these are offset by noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form. Examples include 'curruption', 'kota', 'midle class', 'rashan', 'maintanace', and 'over come from'. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes require the reader to occasionally guess the intended meaning, restricting the lexical score. To progress, the student needs to expand their range of vocabulary and pay closer attention to standard spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is limited, consisting primarily of simple sentences and repetitive structures. When the writer attempts complex sentences, they are frequently faulty, leading to frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and agreement that cause difficulty for the reader. Notable issues include subject-verb agreement errors like 'governments is investing' and 'government are working', missing articles such as 'in agriculture sector' and 'taking a food', and run-on punctuation throughout the paragraphs. Although some basic patterns are controlled, the accumulation of structural inaccuracies prevents the writing from achieving a higher level of grammatical competence.
