Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the causes of global hunger and offering solutions, which places it in the middle tier of achievement. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the point regarding government taxation is introduced ('imposed high amount of taxes on farmer due to which production of crops effect') but lacks specific elaboration or concrete examples. Similarly, the solutions proposed are quite general, such as 'guiding them through seminars and exhibitions' and introducing 'proper subjects for farming,' without fully explaining how these measures directly solve the complex issue of agricultural productivity and global hunger. To reach a higher standard, the writer needs to extend their arguments with more detailed explanations and relevant, specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a clear attempt to organise the response into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct ideas, such as moving from government policies to industrialisation, and then to solutions. However, the overall progression lacks smooth transitions, and the use of cohesive devices is frequently mechanical or inadequate. Phrases like 'There are two sides of the coin, first side is that' and 'As for solutions, first of all' feel repetitive and simplistic. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'They' and 'this' which occasionally create ambiguity about whether the writer is referring to governments, farmers, or younger generations. To improve, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible range of linking words to guide the reader seamlessly through the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'Industrialization', 'exhibitions', and 'prosperity', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation. Examples include 'farming a difficult profession, by impossed high amount of taxes', 'decent amount of paying jobs', and 'a must require thing'. Additionally, there are persistent issues with word forms, such as using 'advanced' instead of 'advance' or 'advancement' in phrases like 'to advanced the faming'. These lexical inaccuracies and restricted range mean the vocabulary repeatedly draws attention away from the message, though meaning remains partially clear. Expanding word families and learning correct collocations will be essential for lexical growth.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical structure of the essay is heavily restricted, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside frequent faulty attempts at complex structures. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies, missing or incorrect articles, subject-verb agreement issues, and preposition errors within grammatical patterns. Examples of these errors include 'huge amount of human stil face hunger', 'government played a vital role' (instead of plays), 'Education is also played a role', and 'as these improvement made the more agriculture will be there'. Punctuation is also weak, with missing spaces after commas and run-on structures. These frequent errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited range of reliable structures.
