Agriculture plays a vital role in economic and public sectors by providing food and support. These fires are actually the main causes of food crises as there prices boost and only the rich can afford them, while the poor goes hungry. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially. While both parts of the prompt—causes and solutions—are touched upon, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. The discussion on causes focuses heavily on narrow or superficial points, such as discarded cigarettes or sudden fires, rather than major systemic socio-economic factors like supply chain failures, poverty, or political instability. Similarly, the proposed solutions are restricted to general awareness camps without exploring actionable agricultural policies or economic interventions. The writer maintains a basic position, but the lack of elaboration and depth prevents the response from moving beyond a partial treatment of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organization with an introduction, body paragraph, and conclusion, but the essay lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, though the division of ideas feels somewhat abrupt, particularly the transition between the introductory points and the main body. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently repetitive or mechanical, such as 'To commence with' and 'In conclusion'. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in vague pronoun usage like 'While, this is caused' and 'anything done in a childs play', which disrupts the logical flow and connectedness of the arguments throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'malnutrition', 'global warming', and 'enhancements', but these attempts are often accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation, such as 'there prices boost' instead of 'their prices surge' and 'amoung' instead of 'among'. Additionally, there are persistent spelling and punctuation mistakes, including 'unevibutable' and missing apostrophes in possessives like 'childs'. These lexical slips and inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted control over word-level precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, article use, and preposition placement within grammatical structures, such as 'increasing in temperatures' instead of 'increases in temperature' and 'floods, tornados can destroy'. Punctuation errors are also notable, including unnecessary commas that interrupt sentence flow. These frequent errors across simple and complex forms can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader in tracking the intended meaning.
