Student answer (Band 4.5)

there is a ongoing discussion which can be a matter of concern, in spite of the advances in agriculture, many people around the world would still go hungry.

there can be many reasons behind. sometimes it can be because of economical power of a country if a country currency becomes weaker then it can lead to higher prices of basic necessities which can make difficult for middle class peolew to buiy them which can lead to deadth of peole because of hunger or starvation. it can lead to that problem in imports of the food materials like food or vegetables because of the currency power is less than other countries currencies.

there are many other reasons for individual facing hunger like war and confilcts because of the war and conflicts the chaoin of the farmers and distributor of the food and supplier chain all are disrupted and can lead to hunger in world and can lead to the deadth of an individual due to starvation. for eg: during the first & second world war there are many countries whose food supply chain is disturbed and lead to deadth of many individuals due to starvation.

most common and unexpected reason for deadth of many individuals due to natural disaster becuse they can be unpredictable there are many news which comes from different countries life floods coming and damaging the crops which will lead to the dealy in the supply of crops in food corporation society of the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt minimally, identifying economic power and conflicts as causes, and natural disasters as a factor, with some solutions implied or discussed broadly. However, the ideas are quite limited, repetitive, and under-developed, lacking depth and robust supporting examples. Furthermore, the response is 247 words long, failing to meet the minimum length requirement of 250 words. To improve towards a higher band, the writer must ensure the word count requirement is met and fully develop each main idea with specific, well-reasoned explanations and clear examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation to the response, with distinct thematic concerns attempted across paragraphs, but there is no clear overall progression or logical flow from introduction to conclusion. Paragraphing is weak and fails to properly structure the argument, with long, sprawling blocks of text like the second and third paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used very repetitively or inaccurately, such as the frequent, mechanical reliance on phrases like 'and can lead to' to link ideas. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to employ logical paragraph breaks and use a wider variety of cohesive ties more naturally to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form that occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. Examples include spelling errors like 'economical' instead of economic, 'peolew' instead of people, 'buiy' instead of buy, 'deadth' instead of death, 'confilcts' instead of conflicts, 'chaoin' instead of chain, and 'becuse' instead of because. The range of vocabulary is basic and repetitive, lacking sophisticated or less common items. To reach a higher band, the writer should focus on expanding their lexical resource, learning correct word forms and collocations, and eliminating basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on long, run-on sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions and repetitive clauses. There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and capitalization, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters ('there is a ongoing', 'there can be'), missing articles ('an individual'), and faulty complex structures. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the meaning at times. To move up to a higher band, the writer must incorporate a better mix of accurate simple and complex sentences, improve punctuation, and exercise greater control over basic grammatical agreements and capitalization.
