Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task only partially and falls well short of the minimum length requirement, containing only 179 words instead of the required 250. While the writer attempts to answer both parts of the prompt by listing causes of hunger such as poverty and climate change, and suggesting solutions like government support and technology, the ideas are presented in a very limited, list-like manner without proper extension or support. The position is discernible, but the lack of development and the severe under-length issue prevent the response from achieving a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some basic organisation visible in the attempt to separate ideas, but the overall progression lacks clarity and logical flow. Paragraphing is highly fragmented and ineffective, particularly with the single-sentence paragraphs and run-on sections like 'Main solution, Government need to provide...'. Cohesive devices are minimal, repetitive, or inaccurate, and referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of thought smoothly from one point to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, showing a limited range that is only minimally adequate for the task. There are numerous noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form, such as 'sufer' instead of suffer, 'distrubtion' instead of distribution, 'financail' instead of financial, and 'modren' instead of modern. These lexical inadequacies and frequent spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score to this band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The grammatical structures used are very limited in range, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex clauses. There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage, such as 'in USA, NETERLANDS this type of countires having' and 'their don't have modren equipments'. Subject-verb agreement and prepositions also show persistent inaccuracies. These frequent errors distract the reader and occasionally obscure the intended meaning of the sentences.
