Student answer (Band 5.5)
Today, facing hunger by many individulas around the world is a growing concern in many parts of the world. This essay will outline the main causes/problems of this issue & suggest some viable solutions.
There are several factors contributing to this problem. Firstly, the primary reason for ongoing global hunger is not a shortage of food production, but rather the inefficient distribution systems & severe food waste. This is because human being are being too careless about food due to that they cook high quantity of food & later they can't eat much so, they throw it. The distribution of food supply by government is also not well. For instance, the goverment supply foods at cities first then they supply it at rural areas but while reaching rural areas the supply of food will be finished. Cities already have food in their stock that's why government have to focus on rural areas first. Secondly, Even though modern farming generates enough crop yield to feed the global population, political conflicts, poor infrastructure, & trade barriers prevent surplus food from reaching vulnerable communities in remote or impoverished regions, which leads to hunger difficulties in some impoverished regions.
Fortunately, several measures can be taken to tackle this issue. The most effective solution is for governments to maintain better relationship with countries so, they can do better trades. The government also have to focus on the infrastructure of undevelop & underdevelop areas of their country. By doing this, the farmers of that areas can do farming for food production & that directly effects in the country's food production and in economy. Additionally, the rich citizen of country also have to assist the poor farmer and have to provide them good facilities for the production of food.
In conclusion, although the individuals who face hunger around the world is a serious challenge caused by the governments because of their political conflicts, poor trade relationship etc. It can be successfully resolved if governments will fix their mistakes and start working on mistakes so, in upcoming days they can provide good facilities to farmer for better food production & they don't have to take part in political conflicts because it directly effects in the country's trade barriers & it is implemented.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by identifying causes of global hunger, such as inefficient distribution systems, food waste, and political conflicts, and by suggesting relevant solutions including better government relations and infrastructure development. However, some ideas are developed unevenly. For instance, the explanation of food waste relies on somewhat simplistic reasoning and generalisations, as seen in the statement that 'human being are being too careless about food.' While the main issues and solutions are presented and extended to some degree, a higher level of development and more specific real-world examples would be needed to fully satisfy the requirements of the next level. The overall position is clear throughout the essay, guiding the reader from causes to practical solutions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear, logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Each paragraph has a clear focus, with the first body paragraph tackling causes and the second addressing solutions. Cohesive devices are employed to connect ideas, such as 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' and 'Additionally,' though referencing and transition management are at times mechanical or slightly repetitive, as noted in the concluding paragraph's repetitive phrasing ('mistakes and start working on mistakes'). Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to separate distinct themes, ensuring the reader can follow the writer's argument without major confusion, despite minor clumsiness in transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'distribution systems,' 'infrastructure,' and 'vulnerable communities.' However, there are noticeable vocabulary and spelling errors that prevent the response from achieving a higher score. Examples include spelling inaccuracies like 'individulas' and 'goverment,' alongside awkward word choices such as 'supply foods at cities first then they supply it at rural areas' and 'undevelop & underdevelop areas.' These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they highlight limitations in word choice, morphological control, and collocation that cap the lexical score at this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to construct multi-clause sentences with subordinating conjunctions like 'even though' and 'because.' Nevertheless, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement problems ('the goverment supply,' 'rich citizen... have to'), article omission or misuse ('at cities first,' 'in country'), and faulty prepositional or conditional structures ('if governments will fix their mistakes'). While these errors rarely impede overall communication, the presence of frequent grammatical inaccuracies in basic and complex structures indicates that control is inconsistent and firmly characteristic of this level.
