Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding why people go hungry and what can be done, but the ideas are limited and under-developed, placing your performance at this level. You mention issues such as high prices and government intervention, but these points are expressed in a repetitive and superficial manner without sufficient explanation or relevant examples. For instance, stating that "government forces their general public to work in agriculture" is a very simplistic idea that lacks the extension and clear reasoning expected at higher bands. Additionally, nine words copied directly from the prompt were not counted towards the overall length. To improve, you need to expand your ideas fully, providing detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your arguments for both causes and solutions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some basic organisation in your essay, with three distinct paragraphs attempting to cover introduction, causes, and solutions, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used very inadequately and are often repetitive. For example, you frequently rely on basic transition phrases and repetitive sentence starters such as "Most of the country" and "In many countries" without establishing clear, logical relationships between sentences. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow within your paragraphs is disjointed. To move up to a higher band, you must ensure that your ideas are logically sequenced with a clear progression throughout the text, using a wider and more accurate variety of cohesive devices and referencing to link your sentences and paragraphs smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which affects the clarity of your communication. You use basic terms and make noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as "go for hungry", "Agiculture", and "guidence". Furthermore, phrases like "government process" and "donate their general public" are unnatural and demonstrate a lack of precision. While your vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a basic message, these frequent lexical inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, you need to use a wider and more flexible range of vocabulary, incorporating less common lexical items with appropriate collocations and paying careful attention to spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors in complex formations. There are numerous errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, such as "agriculture is the main source of income and they produce", "depends in agriculture", and "these problemwill never in our country". Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also handled inconsistently, with awkward phrasing like "This case is being rise day by day". These frequent errors can cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To improve your grammar score, you should work on increasing the variety of your sentence structures, ensuring accurate use of verb forms, prepositions, and articles, and reducing basic grammatical errors across your writing.
